how would i know if my house is haunted?
i’ve just rented out a new house with a few housemates that are all incredibly excited about the whole thing. i’m excited too, it’s just that the house is very very old, creaky, and just has that general “creepy” feel. it’s nice, and great for the three of us, though I can’t help but feel a bit uneasy about it. also, the town the house is located in has this wide known reputation of being haunted in many many locations. It’s an old civil war town with battlefields and everything. So, my question is, is there anything I can do to “sense” if the house might already be occupied, if you get my drift? I mean things I might want to look out for? Aren’t random goosebumps and cold spots a sign of ghosts? My bedroom is clear down the hallway from the bathroom, so I don’t want to wake up at 4am one morning to go pee, and see some civil war soldier standing in my hallway. any experience or help with this kind of stuff is appreciated.
Random goosebumps could be a sign of a ghost or high EMF readings, a cold spot can be a sign of a ghost or a leaky window. Especially if the house is very old with old wiring, high EMF readings can cause hallucinations, nausea and a wide variety of other ailments that are not supernatural.
“General creepy feel” could be from high EMF or you could be in a haunted house. There’s no way to know. If things start happening – disembodied sounds, smells without an origin, doors opening and closing – without any scientific reason, you might want to consider having a paranormal research team come in and do an investigation.
You most likely won’t ever see a ghost, it takes a lot of energy for them to manifest.
