this picture is of some of my friends in front of north carolina monument in Gettysburg. it is right in front of the battlefield where the union defeated the confederates over the course of three days. general lee went to the north in search of supplies when he ran into a union cavalry. the battle caused 51,000 casulties. because of this, gettysburg is described as “one of the most haunted places in america.” we had to reenact the retreat of the confederates, we walked backwards from the field because the confederates wanted to retreat but still look them in the eye. it was hard to imagine that about 150 years ago, the bloodiest battle in the civil war was going on.
since im mexican and speak a lot of spanish this is very easy for me to translate(:
