My son is scared to death,and I need help!!?
He is 19 years old,a high school dropout,never seperated from his friends or Mom for very long, he enlisted in the Army and is scheduled to go to Fort Jackson,SC.on the 25th of this month so he could take his GED and get on with a life in the Army,if…………………he passes the GED, and leading up to his departure[the last year] he has been trying to convince evryone[including himself] that this was what he needed in his life[IT IS!!] but now that crunch time is getting nearer,he is getting ‘cold feet’………..its normal I know but what worries me,is that in the back of his mind he knows that if he fails the GED, then he won’t HAVE to go through with this ARMY thing and I am afraid that he will just fail it on purpose and I think that would absolutely be the worst thing he could do because it will haunt him for the rest of his life!!
Tough love man. The Army might be the best thing that ever happened to him. If he makes it through it, he will be a stronger man, mentally, emotionally, and physically for it.
